On behalf of National Nutrition Month, Hazel Ng, RD, CDE provided an educational presentation to the track & field athletic students of the California Institute of Technology, in Pasadena. She presented on general health and sports nutrition, specifically topics related to fueling and recovering before and after training/competition, while also providing a Q&A session. This presentation piqued the interest of many student-athletes who left more educated and aware of a healthier lifestyle that will benefit not only their overall wellbeing but also ways to improve their endurance and performance level.

On behalf of National Nutrition Month, and with the help of the Student Health & Wellness Center, a booth was set up full of fun and interactive games such as the “Nutrition Spinning Wheel of Fortune” and the display of “Fat Finders,” while also promoting consultations with the dietitian and classes such as yoga, Zumba, and meditation, which are all free to students. This event peaked the interest of many people who came by to play the game and left more educated on fat intake, an overall healthy diet, and how the Student Health & Wellness Center can help them create a healthier lifestyle that will benefit their overall wellbeing.
